Mr. and Mrs. Brinker - St. John's Church - Pennsylvania Wedding

Carri and David’s wedding came to me a little differently than most of my usual weddings; I got a call from Carri’s mom, Vicki, less than two weeks prior to the wedding. She explained that David had recently been diagnosed with terminal esophageal cancer and they were quickly planning their wedding, so David and Carri could enjoy every moment possible as husband and wife. The news was devastating but they weren’t going to let that to stop them from living life to the fullest. She expressed that she wanted to make this as low stress for Carri and David as possible! As soon as I got off the phone, I KNEW I had to do this wedding. After some rearranging and a whole lot of prayer I was able to confirm the date with them and get going with all the planning.

It was a small intimate wedding, with the people they hold near and dear. The ceremony was held at Saint Johns Church in Tidioute, PA, and the reception was at Carri’s parents house. How cool to be able to celebrate your marriage with all the people you love at the place you grew up!?

Carri and David met and became friends socially through a gym they both attended. One day, David had offered to pick Carri up for their Axe throwing event (how cool is that?!!?) and their conversation on the way there sparked some interest between the two. David decided to ask Carri to a new Vietnamese restaurant and pinball, which went so well that they spent the next 5 weeks together. David would make a meal for Carri on Friday and they would go to Crossfit on Saturday together! Before long, David spilled the beans to all their friends that they were dating and the rest is history!!!

Once they decided to get married, David asked Carri to go for a walk. They walked to a beautiful cemetery near his house, found some shade under a Japanese maple tree and he got down on one knee. He pulled out a STUNNING ring that she soon found out was his great grandmother’s engagement ring. It made it all the more special.

I love when my couples bring sentimental things into the wedding day. Carri’s bouquet had a hankie from both her Nana and David’s grandmother. Along with wearing a Pearl necklace from her Grandma. These simple little details are so important, and you’ll always cherish seeing those in your wedding photos.

These two are just so excited to do life together. They shared that they are excited about the simple things in life. Like what to buy for groceries and what flowers to plant in the yard. Those things are truly what life is made of and knowing to be grateful and look for those things will make your time together all the more special.

Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs.! Heres to living life to its fullest and cherishing each-other from this day forward! <3
